Two pounds a week may be asking too much since you are confined to the bed. Basically, you need to cut calories. I suggest sticking to fresh fruits and veggies, limit meat of any kind to 3 oz a day, and eliminate any breads that aren’t whole grain. Skip anything fried or fatty. Aim for a dessert treat only once a week.
I know you can’t get up and exercise but try to move as much as you can. See if someone can get you some small hand weights and then at least you can start toning your arms and upper body. Hope you get out of the cast soon.

since you’re in bed, try lifting weights. They don’t have to be the huge fifty-pounders–that’s dangerous if you’re sick or recovering from being sick! Just try lifting five or ten pounders, and eat fresh, healthy food. cutting calories is just eating things with less calories, like a veggie burger as opposed to a big Mac. That’s cutting calories in a nutshell (labels need to be your friend, they have the amount of calories and fat calories listed on them)!

Well since you can’t move you could lift dumbells. working your upper body with weights will increase your metabolism and then you will start losing weight, also just eat really healthy. hope you like grilled chicken salad. yum yum

One pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories. In order to lose one pound of fat in one week, you will need to either eat 3500 calories less/week or burn off 3500 calories. Double that if your goal is 2 pound loss. The first thing you will need to do is figure out how many calories a day you are eating. Then start cutting out the unnecessary foods and add in the healthier choices. Good calorie choices are fruits and veggies, items lower in fat. Decrease things like breads, potatoes, rice. Drink lots of water, at least 6-8 cups. You can do abdominal exercises in bed like pelvic tilts and also work on arm exercises with either weights or elastic bands. Make sure you check with your medical team to see if the exercise and food plan is acceptable to them. It would suck to be immobilized and have an additional health problem. Good luck to you!

Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and be as active as you can, you will not have problem losing some weight and fats. But unlikely to be 2 lbs a week as you cannot actively exercse.
I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.

Well, my mom is on the Atkins diet. I suppose you could do it if you are very disciplined. I tried it so that I could lose a few pounds for my rowing team. I lost 10 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks.
For the first two weeks you can only eat 20 grams of carbohydrates each day. This is called the induction phase of the diet. No bread, pasta, or fruit. (or corn) The idea of this is that the carbs turn it sugar and then to fat. You wouldn’t need to count calories, and you can have meat, veggies, and cheese.
After about 3 days of doing this, your body will have burned through your stores of glucose and move on your stored body fat. If you are interested in this, look at the Atkins website online. Remember to drink plenty of water, and don’t get down on yourself. You CAN do this. Hope this helped you. Good Luck!

I don’t know if it is possible for you to be immoblized and lose 2 pounds a week. You should do a detox diet for 2 weeks but I don’t know if you can extend that any further due to whatever medical conditions you may have. I have lost 10 pounds in the last 2 weeks from my diet and just walking my dogs outside. You will have to be on a strict diet. Do this:
Avoid carbs (no bread, pasta, rice, chips, etc), sugar, fruits, and milk for 2 weeks. And No Fast Food! Eat small portions no bigger than the size of your fist of food when ever you are hungry.
Eggs, veggies, lean proteins (no big fatty steaks), low-fat cheeses, nuts, butter, and olive oil are things you can eat. I suggest eating a small salad a day. If you do, use olive oil as your dressing or barely use low-fat ranch or caesar dressing. Drink at-home brewed cold green tea at least 2 times a day if not more (drinking one glass can burn up to 70 calories). Make sure to drink lots of water if you are not loving the tea. DO NOT EAT PAST 6PM. If you feel hungry late at night, eat a few almonds, which has protein!
Try to do some stretching exercises with your other limbs and crunches if possible. Good luck. Stick to it and you will lose some pounds.
